Site Description
Description:
This impressive cliff lined alluvial stream sinkhole is on the 180m contour. It is developed in Carn Limestone. A waterfall feeds water into one end of a flat floored doline with cliffs on three sides. Some of the water has been diverted around the sink and continues to another sink.

The site is very badly polluted due to dumping of household waste which is continuing at present. There are huge quantities of rubbish which must present a health hazard.
Notes:
Pollmore is a feature of the Reyfad-Carrickbeg area of the Belmore, Ballintempo and Tullybrack Uplands.
